Intensive Reading (Years 1&2)

Week 1: Monday 15th – Wednesday 17th April 2024
Week 2: Monday 22nd – Wednesday 24th April 2024
9:00 – 11:00 am

This course is specifically designed to provide children in Years 1 and 2 with the skills and tools to assist them on their journey towards become successful readers. Children will build their knowledge and understanding sounds and how to apply them to read. They will also learn strategies to build their comprehension and understanding of what they are reading.

Children will participate in;
* 1:1 Reading
* Story listening
* Vocabulary building
* Comprehension activities
* Word and craft activities

With 1:1 reading, each child will receive direct individual reading instruction, reading levelling, and reading strategies in each session.
